2020 is right around the corner! If you are fortunate enough to ring in the new year on our beautiful island, you should do so with a bang! We’ve compiled a list of different venues that will make sure you welcome the new year with a big Crucian hello!

The menu will include oysters on the half shell, Parisian gnocchi with duck confit, prosciutto wrapped catch with broccoli, and filet mignon and scallops with asparagus and sauce béarnaise. There will of course be a delicious dessert!
The Fred Hotel
If you are out west and looking for a fun way to welcome 2020, make sure you head to The Fred where they will be ringing in 2020 like it was 1920! This “Roaring 20’s” party will include music, dancing, food stations and a dessert bar! And don’t forget to dress the part. Roaring 20’s costumes are encouraged! You can purchase tickets HERE.

Carvelle Hotel and Casino
Haven’t gotten a chance to listen to Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights this year, well now’s your chance! Head to the Caravelle Hotel and Casino on the boardwalk in Christiansted to listen to the distinct Caribbean group play. The group starts playing around 7pm and you can find champagne and light bites in the hotel lobby.
The group was established in the early 1970’s where the band consisted of 6 original members who played instruments including flute, guitar, steel bass pan, steel triangle and a squash (gourd rasp). They’ve now evolved into a 10-member band with 49 plus years of experience. Come listen to their unique Virgin Islands “quelbe” music. The best part, admission is free!
Brew STX
If you follow the boardwalk headed east you will hear the familiar sounds of Crucian native Kurt Schindler playing at Brew STX from 9-midnight. Kurt usually plays anything from banjo to guitar ukulele to the flute. Stop by for a snack, cold beer or just to hear the tunes. Brew is a restaurant, bar and microbrewery where you will find the perfect selection of on tap!
Roseway New Years Day Sail
So you rang in the New Year… what better way to spend the first day of 2020 than to sail on the Caribbean sea! From 1-3pm new years day you can sip complimentary mimosas or wine and help raise the sails or simply sit back and relax on the beautiful Roseway!
This sail is an opportunity for World Ocean School to open Roseway to the public, sharing her unique role as an active National Historic Landmark. The sail also helps support the World Ocean School’s ongoing educational programs. All proceeds support educational programming aboard Roseway for St. Croix public school students.
Don’t forget, reservations are required. Pick-up and drop-off at the ferry dock in Gallows Bay, St. Croix. The Roseway sails rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. Call this number to reserve your spot! 617-755-7241.
