Saint Croix Environmental Association (SEA) has made a tremendous impact on our beautiful island and community – and they aren’t stopping there! SEA’s mission is to “promote the conservation of environmental resources, provide education and advocate for environmentally responsible actions that benefit St. Croix”. Coldwell Banker St. Croix Realty is a corporate sponsor of SEA and our agents are big advocates for preserving the natural wonders of St. Croix, from the lush rainforest to the barrier coral reef system just off our shores – it is one of the main reasons visitors flock to our island (and keep coming back!). SEA’s initiatives protect our “island’s environment and the interconnected ecosystems from the ridge line of our hills to the reefs in the surrounding waters”. SEA promotes and hosts many wonderful events that provide education for the public and/or make a direct impact on our environment by bringing our community together through events like Coastweek Cleanup and free snorkel clinics.
There is quite a buzz going around about the next event honoring the honey bee! Beekeepers’ Buzzaar, presented by the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture, SEA and Fresh Start, is scheduled for September 21, 2019 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, located at the VI Department of Agriculture Fairgrounds. Bees are such an essential part of our agriculture, and our farmers depend on the conservation of our friendly bees. The Beekeepers’ Buzzaar is a fun outing for the whole family – mingle with local vendors who use honey for their products (this is a great time to stock up on unique Christmas gifts such as soaps, candies, candles, bee’s wax, lip balm, lotion and much more) or enjoy demonstrations on how you can care for our honey bees that buzz around our homes and pollinate our local fruit trees. For details on the event CLICK HERE.
Have a BEE-UTIFUL day and we look forward to buzzing around the Beekeeper’s Buzzaar with you!
