ST THOMAS — Flavor, fun, and fiery competition awaits you at the 13th Annual King of the Wing Competition on Saturday, June 8th! The hottest chicken wing and music festival in the Caribbean, King of the Wing (KOW) is one of St. Thomas’s largest events, second to St. Thomas Carnival. Hosted against the backdrop of the world-renowned Magens Bay, this yearly event brings locals and visitors together to indulge in one of America’s favorite finger foods: chicken wings. Since the festival’s inception in 2010, Alpine Securities and White Bay Group have led the charge in raising crucial funds for various nonprofit organizations in the territory.

Participants sign up to compete in one of two categories: restaurant and non-restaurant. The event is open to the public and free to attend; monies are raised from the bar and chicken wing sales. Tickets for chicken wing tastings are 10 tickets for $20 or 2 tickets for $5. 1 ticket gets you one chicken wing sample; drink prices range from $3 to $6 with 100% of the proceeds benefitting a local non-profit organization.

This year’s event will support the benevolent efforts of Nana Baby Children’s Home (NBH), a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing care for hundreds of children. A fixture in the St. Thomas community for over 30 years, Nana Baby Children’s Home is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year emergency placement group home for children in crisis. Their tireless works to create and maintain a warm, safe, loving, and happy environment for children in need require additional funding beyond what is provided by government agencies. Thanks to this year’s King of the Wing, NBH will receive crucial funds needed to continue providing much-needed services to the community.

KOW provides delicious food and electrifying entertainment in a beautiful location to support a worthy cause. This year’s live entertainment will be provided by none other than Grammy Award-winning singer, rapper, and songwriter duo R. CITY! The event will take place on Saturday, June 8th from 12pm to 5pm at Magens Bay. Free shuttle service will be available from the Ft. Christian parking lot and Tutu Park Mall from 10am to 6:30pm.
