Owner Nora Unicoi Stewart is an artist and painter who taught art classes for children for over 20 years in Chicago, Illinois. Coming from a family of artists, Nora grew up learning many forms of art including dance, martial arts, and painting.
When Nora opened Dodat St. Croix Toys & Souvenirs, she modeled it much like her studio in Chicago — a creative space where kids can feel free to express themselves through art. The art classes at Dodat’s Creative Corner offer private and small group lessons for children and adults. Participants can “brush” up on their painting skills, “draw” out their imagination in a sketchbook class, or bring a little “color” into their lives by painting with their little ones. The possibilities are endless!
Dodat St. Croix offers a variety of items to add a heaping dose of fun to the family. The store is loaded with toys, gifts, souvenirs, local art, beach gear, and much more. Find toys and stuffed animals, art kits, science kits, and sports balls to keep the fun going throughout the day. There is a treasure trove of souvenirs and gifts, including handmade mocko jumbies, jewelry, home goods, artwork, and books. They carry a wide selection of well-known brands such as Wild Republic, Retrospec, Waboba, and Green Gear. Dodat St. Croix is also one of the few stores on island that carries inflatable paddle boards and accessories; no need to order them online, as they have them readily available in-store.
Dodat St. Croix hosts a variety of art classes, themed parties, scavenger hunts, and other events that engage children of all ages and skill levels.
