Carvelle Hotel and Casino
Haven’t gotten a chance to listen to Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights this year, well now’s your chance! Head to the Caravelle Hotel and Casino on the boardwalk in Christiansted to listen to the distinct Caribbean group play. The group starts playing around 7pm and you can find champagne and light bites in the hotel lobby.
The group was established in the early 1970’s where the band consisted of 6 original members who played instruments including flute, guitar, steel bass pan, steel triangle and a squash (gourd rasp). They’ve now evolved into a 10-member band with 49 plus years of experience. Come listen to their unique Virgin Islands “quelbe” music. The best part, admission is free!
If you follow the boardwalk headed east you will hear the familiar sounds of Crucian native Kurt Schindler playing at Brew STX from 9-midnight. Kurt usually plays anything from banjo to guitar ukulele to the flute. Stop by for a snack, cold beer or just to hear the tunes. Brew is a restaurant, bar and microbrewery where you will find the perfect selection of on tap!
