We love to see the U.S. Virgin Islands in the spotlight, and this week we’re seeing our sister island, St. Thomas, real estate featured on HGTV’s Beachfront Bargain Hunt. Two back-to-back episodes highlight some of the many reason why we choose to make America’s Paradise our home.

St. ThomasOn Sunday, January 22, clients from Ohio search for a vacation home in “Family Retreat in St. Thomas” with their local real estate agent. In a turn from the usual couples relocating to paradise, on Sunday, January 29, St. Thomas natives are the stars of “Staying Put on St. Thomas, USVI” alongside their real estate agent who is also a native St. Thomian.

According to an article in the St. Croix Source, Beachfront Bargain Hunt and Magilla Entertainment, the show’s production company, have visited the USVI frequently, having produced more than 10 shows on St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas. Real estate agents, local businesses and residents love the attention these shows bring to our island home.

And since we’re suckers for all-things-househunting, we couldn’t resist clicking around the HGTV web site to find more episodes that feature St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas real estate. Of course, we love to reminisce about the times that Amy Land de-Wilde co-starred in “St. Croix’s Destination Home” and David Fedeles in “Fleeing Chicago, Illinois for St. Croix,” but a quick search led us down a rabbit hole of interesting stories, happy homeowners and incredible real estate in the USVI. St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas real estate has not only been featured on Beachfront Bargain Hunt, but also Caribbean Life and House Hunters International.

One theme is common in these shows, as with all of our clients. Many people are seeking a slower pace and laid back lifestyle, and the USVI offer just that. Some may say St. Thomas was one of their cruise stops and they loved it so much that they decided to move. Others say that they’ve been vacationing on St. Croix for years and have finally decided to take the plunge. The Virgin Islands just have a way of drawing people in and we love helping them find them dream home in America’s Paradise!
