The St Croix Crucian Christmas Festival, Play Mas, 1st Class, includes plenty of events to celebrate the holiday season one more week.

Jan. 4

The Calypso Monarch Finals Island Center for the Performing Arts.

Nine calypsonians will battle it out in a competition of wit and song for the title. Contestants include the top three finishers from the Elimination Tent, held Dec. 17, King of the Tent-Morris “King Generic” Benjamin, Gema Noel and Campbell “King Kan” Barnes, alongside Chantal “Lady Peaches” Barnes, Cedrick “Spade” Brookes, Arthur “Lord Galvanize” Brown Jr., Samuel “Mighty Pat” Ferdinand, Alford “Thunder” Romney, James “Moonark” Wakefield and Llewellyn Westerman.

Jan. 5

J’ouvert. Line-up begins at 5 a.m. at Hannah’s Rest Corner. Food, Arts and Crafts Fair opens at noon at the Eliza McBean Clock Tower.

Jan. 6

Latin Night in the Festival Village, music beginning at 8 p.m.

Jan. 7

Children’s Parade, taking off from Claude O. Markoe School at 10 a.m. In the Festival Village, the entertainment begins at 8 p.m.

Jan. 8

Adult’s Parade, with a 10 a.m. line-up at Hannah’s Rest.

Jan. 9

Annual Boat Races starting at noon near the Albert Edwards Fish Market. Festival Wrap-Up from 8 p.m. to midnight in the Festival Village, with a presentation of fireworks by Grucci, sponsored by the V.I. Lottery and Southland Gamin.
