The St Croix Ironman 70.3 will be held May 2, 2010.

The 2010 St. Croix Ironman 70.3 remains one of the very few 70.3 distance races where qualifying slots are available for both the Ironman World Championships (Kona) and the Ironman 70.3 World Championships (Clearwater). The classic St. Croix course, among the most beautiful in the sport, has 28 Kona slots up for grabs, as well as 40 Clearwater slots.

The May 2 date allows athletes to enjoy a tropical respite after a long winter, as well as an early season chance to get qualified for the autumn dates of both championship races.

The Prize purse for the St. Croix Ironman 70.3 will be $50,000 – one of the largest in the sport. Most of the top competitors in the sport are expected to attend. There will be equal distribution of prize money to men and women through ten places. There will also be Primes awarded.

All registered athletes receive:

*A Triathlon T-Shirt, Race Goody Bag & Official Race Program

*Admittance to the “Jump Up” and Restaurants

*Admittance to Awards Banquet in Christiansted

Close to a thousand international competitiors emerge on St. Croix for this annual event, which includes a 2 kilometer swim though the turquoise waters of Protestant Cay, a 90 kilomater bike race through the island’s challenging terrian and a 21 kilometer marathon the the grounds of the Buccaneer Resort.

The event is a great reason to visit St Croix, as a spectator if not a competitor. Stop by our Coldwell Banker offices and let’s talk about our real estate opportunities at the same time.
