Images By Design and Sandal Sole are hosting the first ever “Face of the Caribbean” online competition, a tribute to the beauty, talent and fashion industries, with seven competition categories open solely to native Caribbean islanders and 10 categories open to applicants from across the globe.
The seven competition categories open exclusively to native Caribbean islanders include model, female salon stylist, hair stylist, make-up artist, fashion designer, jewelry designer and photographer.
Competition categories open to both Caribbean islanders and global contestants are singer, songwriter, composer, music beat producer, web designer and graphic designer.
Competition categories open to college students, native Caribbean Islanders and global contestants are the singer, songwriter, composer, music beat producer, web designer and graphic designer category.
So far, says Sandal Sole owner and event organizer Lisa Mosley, individuals from Trinidad, Barbados, Grenada, the Dominican Republic and Haiti have submitted entries into the competition. She expects that somewhere between 2,500 and 5,000 people will apply.
Individuals applying for any of the categories must submit all appropriate materials and application forms and fees online by May 15. For materials that must be submitted via mail, they must be postmarked no later than May 15.
Winners in all categories will be announced online on July 4.
